The design inspiration for Nashville restaurant Caviar & Bananas really came with the name itself: the special, upscale delicacy of caviar, paired with the simplicity and warmth of the everyday banana. To meld those two sensibilities inside the brand new Midtown space, the Powell team chose a material palette that dramatizes the high end-versus-casual contrast, mixing unfussy steel, concrete and tile with glamorous brass, elegant cherry wood and sleek white stone. Caviar & Bananas’ Charleston flagship set a style stage with a black/white contrasting palette and slick and sleek tile, and keeping the tone of the brand consistent across state lines, while still making it feel at home here in Nashville, drove the overall aesthetic.
