Bar East

Bar East is modern asian fusion restaurant located in the bustling East Nashville neighborhood. The 3,546 sf space is a study in dynamic color and the fusion of color in dichroic glass which parallels the fusion of the cuisine and is designed and constructed by the Powell team. Dichroic glass is glass which can display multiple different colors depending on lighting conditions. Panels of dichroic glass follow the organic curve that defines the space and highlights the bar as the heart of this restaurant. From host stand to bar to banquettes one ribbon line curves around the space uniting the key elements. The color palette is derived from the multitude of colors projected from the dichroic glass - soft purple and aqua tones are a highlight. A social media moment is tucked into the entry to the restaurant with dichroic mirror panels placed in front of each other creating an infinity mirror look with a custom sconce placed within. Custom white oak furniture is used throughout to bring warmth into the space and create a contrast to the colorful glass panels. A rooftop bar is designed with an organic overtone that alludes to the organic booths in the main restaurant space.
