Located on the upper two levels of a restored 1890s retail building in downtown Nashville, the 506 Lofts offers modern lodging amenities and comfort amid historic surroundings. The Powell team focused on maintaining and highlighting original building elements while taking a modern residential industrial approach to the Lofts’ design. Color-splotched expanses of ragged plaster walls were lovingly restored to reveal centerpieces in each 506 loft space, and new finishes and fixtures were chosen to let those details take the fore. The hotel’s marketing plan called for welcoming “Instagrammable moments,” and Powell set the backdrop with local-pride-infused custom murals from Nashville’s I Saw The Sign, and warm, selfie-inspiring lighting from Nashville’s Southern Lights Electric.
